"Well, I learned a vast amount. Especially about other people. Because I had come from the upper middle class. I never met anybody who worked for a living except the maid we had. And so, all of these kids, high school boys, some not even in high school yet, came from working class families. And I suddenly began to realize, good God, I've missed most of what life is about. And that was a great, instructive educational experience for me." |
