Casablanca Conference
Casablanca Conference
At the Casablanca Conference, the Allied Powers decided on pursuing unconditional surrender from the Axis Powers. At Britain's insistence, they also agreed to delay a cross-channel invasion into Europe in favor of a thrust into the "soft underbelly" through Italy. Seated from left to right are French General Henri Giraud, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, French General Charles De Gaulle and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
