candidates accuse each other of pandering to special interests in
Washington. Often, the heavy lifting is done by lobbyists, who work for
both conservative and liberal causes. While the term lobbyist is
probably about as popular as "politician" among voters, most Americans
don’t know what lobbyists actually do. What is the truth about
lobbying? How does it actually work? And does it ultimately help or
hurt our democracy?
