Think Tank with Ben Wattenberg checks in on medicine's progress in the fight against heart disease. The last two decades have witnessed the introduction of many new forms of treatment, including angioplasty and the use of coronary stents. These technologies have allowed millions of Americans to live longer, more active lives. But some worry that the very financial incentives that led to the development of these new treatments may now be encouraging their overuse. Where are we in the struggle against heart disease? Are new treatments sometimes applied with an eye toward profit?
