BEIJING— Zou Qinghong, a former Chinese TV host, visited to a fertility clinic in California in June to freeze her eggs—a procedure unavailable to her in China. Like many Chinese women, Ms. Zou has been focused on building a career. “You work overtime every day. There’s no time for dating,” she says. Now she is in her 40s and hopes to someday have children, whether or not she can find a spouse first.
