Tara Wall, a former newscaster, Republican National Committee senior advisor and George W. Bush appointee, is currently a conservative columnist and Deputy Editorial Page Editor for The Washington Times. Wall is an award-winning journalist who has spent 17 years in the fields of communications, politics and journalism. Her weekly column focuses on timely topics involving religion, race, politics and national policy.

Before accepting her current position at the Washington Times, Wall served as Communications Director and Spokesperson at the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding at the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to that, Wall was appointed by President George W. Bush as Director of the Office of Public Affairs (OPA) at the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in February of 2007.

Prior to her appointment at HHS, Wall was Senior Advisor and Director of Outreach Communications for the Republican National Committee (RNC). In that role, she served as a national media spokesperson, advising the RNC Chairman on issues impacting diverse ethnic and religious communities. She joined the RNC in May 2004 after spending 13 years as a news reporter, anchor and host for local ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates in Michigan.

Wall created, executive produced and hosted a talk show for the CBS affiliate in Detroit called “Street Beat,” a weekly, half-hour political affairs program featuring top lawmakers, political, community and business leaders. As a reporter, Wall produced numerous investigative, series and documentary pieces. She was first to uncover and exclusively report the infamous "Mayor's Memo" story that involved Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and governor-elect Jennifer Granholm in 2002.

In 1999-2000, Wall worked as Associate Director of Governor John Engler’s SE Michigan office. In that role, she facilitated meetings and executed policy as a liaison between the Governor’s office and the City of Detroit.

Wall currently serves as a political strategist and analyst for national news outlets, and has appeared on FOX Newschannel’s “The O’Reilly Factor” and “Big Story”, CNN’s Campbell Brown Election Center, C-Span, MSNBC, ABC News Now, American Urban Radio Networks, BET and TV One’s “America’s Black Forum”. Wall was also a regular panelist for Ed Gordon’s News & Notes on National Public Radio (NPR) with Juan Williams and has been quoted in the Washington Post, USA Today and other publications. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University, with a major in Telecommunications & Film and a minor in Law & Government.
