America Reframed: Brother Outsider

BROTHER OUTSIDER: THE LIFE OF BAYARD RUSTIN In the 1940s, Rustin, a pioneer who pursued racial equality, advocated pacifism and Gandhian nonviolence. Though inspiring to Martin Luther King Jr., he became a liability to the civil rights movement and therefore, shunned. The film captures the "complications of Rustin’s life - a black man who stayed out of the spotlight" because of his homosexuality.
