Meacham, current executive vice president at Random House, is a former editor-in-chief for Newsweek and a commentator on a variety of topics: politics, history and religion. His new book is Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power. Meacham describes Jefferson as a lofty thinker and the ultimate political operator.
