The Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, located in Bethesda, Maryland, is a center for the practice and teaching of the Christian contemplative tradition. Here, mainline Protestants mostly seek experience of God through the practices of, among others, Tibetan Buddhists and Catholic saints.
