Lawmakers announce bipartisan breakthrough on VA reform

House and Senate negotiators reached a compromise on how to improve patient care in the VA health care system. The $17 billion proposal would provide money for vets to seek out private care if their access is limited, hire additional doctors and nurses and lease new clinics around the country. Vermont Sen.
