Stories that were submitted to the site are served randomly to visitors of the Shared Voices section, which is open to the public worldwide.

We didn't perform much, if any, internal editing of stories, but we were selective about which stories would be included. The more a story conveyed a personal experience, the more likely it was to be chosen.

By submitting a story, authors agreed to grant us the right to use it on this site in perpetuity.

Contribute your story

Survivor stories from visitors to this site were accepted from June 1998 through April 2000 and are included in the Shared Voices section of this site.

While we are unable to accept any new stories at this time, we hope you'll take a moment to read some of the stories contributed by others.
