Paladin Invision is a multi Emmy award-winning company producing quality, popular, factual programming including history, current affairs, religion, music and arts documentaries for the U.K., America and the international market.
The company is a co-venture between two of Britain's internationally respected documentary filmmakers: William Cran and Clive Syddall. They have produced more than 500 hours of award-winning television.
Writer and Director
Cran has won four National Emmys and received Emmy nominations in ten successive years. His other major prizes include the Columbia School of Journalism’s duPont-Columbia award (twice), the George Foster Peabody award (twice), the Golden Gate Award (twice), the Cine Golden Eagle (twice) and the Overseas Press Club Award.
During his career in America, Canada and Britain he has produced more than 50 full length documentaries and landmark series. His recent credits as series producer/writer/director include: THE AGE OF AIDS (PBS/Channel 4/Granada International); DO YOU SPEAK AMERICAN? (PBS), EXTREME OIL, a three part series for PBS/CBC/BBC, and COMMANDING HEIGHTS (PBS/BBC).
Other credits include: APOCALYPSE! (PBS/C4), the story of the Book of Revelations and the origins of apocalyptic thinking; THE PRIZE: THE EPIC STORY OF OIL, MONEY AND POWER (BBC/PBS); THE SECRET WORLD OF RICHARD NIXON (BBC/A&E); NELSON’S TRAFALGAR (Channel 4), a feature length biographical drama documentary about Britain’s great naval hero; FROM JESUS TO CHRIST (PBS); AMBUSH IN MOGADISHU (WGBH/BBC); THE HISTORY OF A MYSTERY (BBC/A&E); WAR AGAINST TERROR — AFGHANISTAN (PBS); THE SURVIVAL OF SADDAM (PBS); THE MAN WHO MADE THE SUPERGUN (PBS); HOLY WAR, HOLY TERROR (PBS); SAUDI ARABIA – LAND OF OIL AND MONEY (BBC) and BLACK SEPTEMBER (BBC).
Clive Syddall is an award-winning producer and director of many notable documentary films. His recent credits as executive producer include: DO YOU SPEAK AMERICAN?, 1421: THE YEAR CHINA DISCOVERED AMERICA? and EXTREME OIL for PBS, and SINATRA: DARK STAR, a 90-minute biographical special for A&E/BBC/ZDF-Germany and Arte-France.
A former senior producer on BBC’s PANORAMA, program editor of NEWSNIGHT and producer for the MACNEIL/LEHRER NEWSHOUR, his documentary series credits include PLAGUE WARS (WGBH/BBC); THE PEOPLE’S DUCHESS (Channel 4), a dramatized documentary of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire.
Other credits include : LOST IN AFRICA, the fight to save 100,000 children separated from their parents by the civil war in Rwanda; WALLIS SIMPSON — THE DEMONISED DUCHESS, about the controversial American who spent 36 years looking after a King nobody wanted; and the BAFTA award winning series RIVER JOURNEYS (PBS/BBC).
He has been CEO of two major independent production companies where he was responsible for over 400 hours of television. He is currently expanding the Company’s activities worldwide whilst ensuring Paladin Invision’s standard of excellence is always maintained.
Adam Lively is an experienced producer/associate producer who has worked for some of Britain's leading independent production companies, making current affairs, history and arts documentaries for the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV. He researched and wrote this production document with Alison Rooper. He is also a published writer, author of four novels and two non-fiction books.
