The Children's Chorus of Washington, now in its eighth season, has taken its place among the finest children's choral ensembles in the nation. Founder and Music Director Joan Gregoryk established the performance-based choral music education program in 1996. The Chorus made its debut at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in November 1996. It has toured internationally, performing, among other place, at the 1999 Tuscany International Children's Chorus Festival and the European Children's Chorus Festival in Vienna in 2002. The Chorus will tour London and Wales in 2004. The young singers, ages 9-16, represent more than 70 public, private and home schools in the greater Washington, D.C., area.
