Examining the trans-Atlantic journey of Irish music, the concert featured some of Ireland's most popular performers. Irish-American performers, including Elvis Costello and Emmylou Harris, also performed.
Celebrating the incredible lives of 42 human activists from around the globe, nine acclaimed actors — including Alec Baldwin and Sigourney Weaver — performed a staged reading of Ariel Dorfman's play, "Speak Truth to Power." With musical performances by Jackson Browne and Hugh Masekela, the television program also included documentary and archival footage from award winning producer/directors Alex Gibney and Marc Levin.
This musical celebration of Latino culture, hosted by Edward James Olmos, featured Gloria Estefan, Jose Feliciano, Sheila E, Cachao, Juan Luis Guerra and many others.
