Wanda Sykes

Wanda SykesWanda Sykes, Emmy Award winner, is no stranger to the world of stand-up comedy. Her talent has led to many guest appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and her own special on Comedy Central's Comedy Central Presents, which was the first to air for this comedy series and is still widely watched and regarded today.

Sykes earned her Emmy Award as one of the top writers of the HBO series, The Chris Rock Show, and she has been a regular on the hit show now in its sixth season.

It was only natural for Sykes to make the leap to film. She appeared in Universal's The Nutty Professor 2, The Klumps with Eddie Murphy, Down to Earth opposite Chris Rock, and Tomorrow Night, featured at the Sundance Film Festival.

Her writing credits also include 1997's and 1999's MTV Music Video Awards and The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show.

A member of the Writers Guild of America, Sykes began her career performing at clubs in Washington, D.C. She has toured with Chris Rock as the opening act and continues to perform in New York City.

Her popular act has garnered her the prestigious "Best Female Stand-Up of the Year Award at the 20th Annual American Comedy Awards."
