Eve Ensler's phenomenal The Vagina Monologues enjoyed a sold-out run in New York and drew rave reviews at theaters around the world. The play was telecast in a 2001 HBO special and has been translated into more than 25 languages. For The Vagina Monologues, Ensler won a 1997 Obie Award and was nominated for a 2002 Olivier Award, Drama Desk Award and Helen Hayes Award. Ensler's play Necessary Targets was performed on Broadway, at the Kennedy Center, the National Theater in Sarajevo, and the Variety Arts Theater in New York. Her other plays include Lemonade, The Depot, Floating Rhoda and the Glue Man, Extraordinary Measures, Ladies, and Scooncat. Ensler has two upcoming plays and books, entitled The Good Body and I Am An Emotional Creature. |
