Steve Martin wrote and starred in his first film project, "The Absent-Minded Waiter," in 1977 and received an Academy Award nomination. He has starred in the hit movies "Father of the Bride" and "Father of the Bride II," for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, and he has won Grammy Awards for his two comedy albums, "Let's Get Small" and "A Wild and Crazy Guy." Martin's film credits include "Bowfinger," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Three Amigos" and "Novocaine." In 1993, his first original play "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" was presented by Chicago's Steppenwolf Theater and later premiered Off-Broadway at the Promenade Theater. His production "The Underpants" premiered Off-Broadway at the Classic Stage Company in 2002. Martin has published two novellas, Shopgirl and The Pleasure of My Company, both of which were ranked on the New York Times bestseller list. He was selected Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals 1988 Man of the Year, and in 1996 was honored with a retrospective of his work and lifetime achievement award by the American Film Institute. Martin is currently in production on "Birth of the Pink Panther."
