The Challenge: Recharge a Battery |

Because
we have a battery to store electrical energy, we only need to use the generator
when it's convenient to do so. As we couldn't always depend on the wind
or waves we took the easy option on the island and used muscle power. To
make the best of our muscle power and increase the speed at which the axle
turned, we used a big wheel as a gear.
This allowed us to
successfully to recharge a dead battery ready to power our Rough Science
equipment.
