Jonathan studied Physics at Surrey University. While working on
his PhD in Chemical Physics at Sussex University he was very lucky to be involved
in some of the first pioneering work on Buckminsterfullerene (C60)
work which led from astronomy via chemistry into a new area of materials science.
He currently
runs The
Creative Science Centre at the University of Sussex. He
also performs consulting work for Schlumberger, an oilfield services company.
In 2000 he was
awarded a fellowship through the U.K.'s National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, which he uses to explore creative
ideas.
This is Jonathan's third Rough Science project.
