Kate Humble - Host

Kate Humble has emerged as the face of science television in the United Kingdom. She has served as host of Rough Science for BBC2 since the series premiered in 2000, as well as hosting the weekly nature series Animal Parkon BBC1. Her latest science project is Tomorrow's World, a weekly look into the technological future, from BBC1.

Her fresh face and enthusiasm, coupled with her ease in dealing with complex scientific subjects, make her the perfect choice to serve as the envoy between science practitioners and the viewing public.

Humble has always been a devotee of science and of travel — and Rough Science is a unique combination of both. Prior to her commanding presence in the science genre, she hosted a highly successful British travel series Holiday on a Shoestring, in which she introduced viewers to exciting trips to worldly destinations which cost less than 500 British pounds.

More in the science realm, she was also the host of the BBC2 series WebWise, which explored the intricacies of the new cyberworld with an approach both accessible and substantive. Other credits include the series TOP GEAR, on the newest in automobiles, and Waterworld, an assignment which included her reporting from a mechanical whale in the middle of the River Thames.
