March on Washington: A retrospective

On Aug. 28, 1963, a quarter million people traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the "March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom."  Gwen Ifill talked with The Washington Post's Michael Fletcher about the support and opposition organizers faced then and the legacy of the March fifty years later. Fletcher interviewed civil rights leaders of the time in his report "An Oral History of the March on Washington" for the July/August issue of the Smithsonian Magazine.
