THIS WEEK, the Supreme Court reaffirmed the 2nd amendment right to bear arms in a controversial case overturning Chicago’s hand-gun ban. Just two years ago, the Roberts court signaled that it might rule this way when it struck down Washington, DC’s hand-gun ban. But since DC was a federal enclave, gun rights supporters challenged Chicago's local law. Linda Greenhouse, then of the New York Times, and Pete Williams of NBC News analyze the decision overturning DC's law two years ago.
