Charles Babington
Charles Babington covers the White House for the Associated Press.
He came to Washington, D.C. in 1987 as a one-person bureau for the News & Observer of Raleigh, North Carolina. He spent 16 years at The Washington Post, covering Congress, the White House and other beats. He joined the AP in 2007.
Babington holds a degree in Islamic history from the University of North Carolina, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
