Obama to visit Minneapolis
By Devin Henry
Minnesota Daily,   U. Minnesota
August 06, 2008

Presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama will visit the Minneapolis Hilton Monday afternoon for a high-priced fundraiser.

The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will carry a price tag of $1,000 to attend the general reception and $5,000 for a photo with the candidate. The event is for donors only; there will be no public appearances for the Illinois senator.

Obama's visit will take place at the same hotel presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain visited for a fundraiser of his own in June.

Obama's visits have dotted the Twin Cities since the presidential campaign began.

In February, he hosted a rally that filled the Target Center in Minneapolis.

In early June, Obama claimed his party's nomination at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, the venue that will host the Republican National Convention in less than one month.
