The focus this week is President George H.W. Bush’s State of the Union speech in the reelection year of 1992.
The White House had built up this speech as one of the defining moments in the President’s term with economic anxiety first and foremost on the minds of voters. And some of the economic proposals are much of the same as those being used now to spur economic growth.
