If you don't have anything nice to say...
These are a few of the lessons I take with me as I get ready to leave my friends and colleagues at American Experience after more than five years. Some of you might think I'm crazy for leaving this job, and maybe I'm secretly starting to think that, too. What keeps me excited about the change -- it's a big one -- is that I know what I'm taking with me as I leave.
I'm taking an appreciation for history that I didn't have when I got here, and the ability to look at the news and recognize when we're in familiar territory. It's a roadmap - and sometimes it leads us in the right direction, and sometimes it steers us wrong - but we never get lost. It's comforting.
I'm also taking some amazing life lessons from a group of talented and inspiring people who I'll miss greatly. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
So, it's my last blog post here. Unless of course they start taking guest posts from viewers like you (and me).
