AMERICAN EXPERIENCE mourns the loss of a talented colleague with the passing last week of Gail Dolgin. She produced two films for AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, the award-winning and Oscar-nominated Daughter from Danang, broadcast in 2002, and Summer of Love, broadcast in 2007. “We were very privileged to work with Gail,” says AMERICAN EXPERIENCE Executive Producer Mark Samels, “She brought to her work a real passion, and to her life a big-hearted warmth and generosity. She was a joy to be around, and we’ll miss her greatly.”
An active member of the San Francisco and Berkeley independent documentary community, Gail was a board member of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival and a panelist and reader for the Independent Television Service’s (ITVS) “Open Call” in San Francisco.
