Part 2 of JFK

Before watching part 2, be sure you catch JFK, Part 1 about JFK's early years.

JFK Part 2 covers the two and a half-year term of America's 35th President. Just three months after his election, JFK faces his first fiasco with an embarrassing failed attack on Cuba which came to be known as the Bay of Pigs. At home, Kennedy must address a growing civil rights movement, and abroad, the Cold War is intensifying. It comes to a crescendo with the Cuban Missile Crisis, but after the US successfully avoids a nuclear war, JFK feels new confidence. He gives several important speeches on civil rights and the cold war, and he negotiates an agreement on a nuclear test ban. On November 22, 1963 Kennedy is assasinated during a campaign trip in Dallas, Texas.
