Another Russian immigrant, Leontief carried memories of a St. Petersburg childhood, including "stray bullets whistling by during the first days of the February Revolution." He is best known for the creation and refinement of input-output analysis, which has fundamentally influenced the evolution of economic analysis and economic accounts.
