Arlington Street Church (Unitarian Universalist)

Founded: 1729
Current Building: 1861

In 1788, the members of Arlington Street Church petitioned the General Court of Massachussetts to abolish slavery. The church continued to organize for abolition through the Civil War, and remains a center for social action today.
