How did you get into theater?
I first got into performing through dance at the age of four. My first real memory I have of entertaining an audience was at dance showcase for my studio… I took all different types of dance and eventually got into doing competitions. I competed for 5 years all over Southern California in group tap and jazz up until 8th grade… I first got really into singing in middle school. After having done school choir for 2 years, my class started working on Broadway numbers and I got hooked. Within a few months I auditioned for my first musical, "School House Rock," and I haven’t stopped since…
Who are some of your role models in entertainment?
Idina Menzel is one of the greatest musical theater performers I know of. I love her style and she is always so strong in her characters. Some of my favorite shows are Andrew Lippa’s "The Wild Party," "Chess," and "Rent."
I love Wesley Taylor… I love watching up-and-coming New York composers’ cabarets on YouTube and Wesley has so many great documented performances. He also has done a handful of spoof videos. I tend to follow people with wide performance ranges and he never ceases to surprise me.
