How did you get into theater?

From the time I was a toddler, I was mesmerized by music and theater… In preschool, I decided to cast and direct a play with my friends… In fifth grade, in order to quench my thirst for theater, I casted, produced, directed, and starred in my own version of "The Wizard of Oz" in my basement, and donated the proceeds from our tickets and concessions to charity... And as we took our final bow for our families, I knew that this was what I was meant to do.

Who are some of your role models in theater?

Some of my heroes in the entertainment world are those unique artists who choose to appear both in front of, and behind the camera. People like George Clooney, Kenneth Branagh, Ben Affleck, Clint Eastwood, and Woody Allen stand out among their peers as artists who are not only performers, but also directors and/or writers.

What sets you apart from other performers?

I love performing but I also love to direct. This year, I directed a one-act play called “Superhero Sanitarium” at my school. My directing experience, however, comes primarily from my experiences making YouTube videos. When I was thirteen, I got my first video camera as a birthday gift. From that moment on, I started experimenting with filmmaking. I would write, direct, act, and edit my own videos. I learned how to write my own scripts, film with interesting camera angles, edit the clips together, and add special effects. After a few years of making these videos, YouTube contacted me about becoming a YouTube Partner. That means I would be paid to make the videos that I love to make. Since I started in 2006, my videos have accumulated over 700,000 views and 1500 subscribers, and I am currently being paid to make videos.
