Episode 7 Journal

What did you think of today's challenge?

I thought today's challenge was great! Pâtés and terrines are my favorite.

What did you prepare today?

A roast veggie terrine with goat cheese and balsamic fragrance of banana leaf.

How do you think you did? Is there anything you wish you'd done better?

I think I did just fine! I wish I would have had any other terrine than veggie, but oh well!

What was the highlight of the day's events?

Michael in the kitchen. It was very nice. You can tell how very passionate he is about terrines and pâtés.

Are there any lessons you took away from today?

Use more colorful veggies for outside of veggie terrine. Also, watch out for inedible varnishes, i.e., banana leaf.

What was the most constructive or interesting piece of feedback you heard from the judges?

Banana leaf = no good if you cannot eat it

How do you think you are doing in relation to your fellow competitors?

Well, I believe I am holding my own — for now!

Who do you think is faring the best and why (we recognize this changes from day-to-day)?

Hard to say — we are each strong in our own rights.
