Lev Mamuya

Lev Mamuya (cello), 11, is a sixth grader at the Rashi School in Newton, Massachusetts and became interested in studying cello when he was 2 years old. A student of Paul Katz and Laura Blustein at New England Conservatory’s Preparatory Division, Lev was featured as a soloist with the Cape Cod Symphony when he was 8, and won the Newton Symphony Concerto Competition last year. He played with Yo-Yo Ma and Lynn Chang at the inauguration of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Lev also loves the Red Sox, sports trivia, the Harry Potter series, and playing sports with friends.
