Famed violinist Joshua Bell takes to the stage in From the Top at Carnegie Hall, where he is joined by 13-year-old classical guitarist and bobble-head collector Timothy Callobre from Pasadena, California, and the La Campana Trio, three teenagers who study violin, viola and cello in Chicago, for a performance of Mendelssohn’s “May Breezes” featured on Joshua’s latest recording “Voice of the Violin.” Host Christopher O’Riley and the young musicians team up to “punk” Bell, but nothing stands in the way of their outstanding rendition of the Scherzo from Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A Major.
