Strings take center stage on From the Top at Carnegie Hall when Ania Filochowska, a 12-year-old violinist originally from Poland, interprets the music of her homeland in Wieniawski’s lively “Polonaise,” and a quartet of car-crazed teenage boys from Ohio called “opus.” plays from the beautiful Ravel String Quartet in F major. After Chris reveals some of the boys’ hidden talents, the ensemble joins him for the Scherzo from the Brahms Piano Quintet in F Minor, Opus 34.
