FRONTLINE Wins Five Emmy Awards

FRONTLINE, the acclaimed PBS investigative series, won five Emmy Awards at the 38th Annual News and Documentary Emmys on Thursday for four documentaries on topics ranging from the humanitarian crisis in Yemen to the 2016 presidential election.
Yemen Under Siege, journalist Safa Al Ahmad’s up-close look at the staggering human toll of the conflict in Yemen, took home two Emmy Awards. Also honored were The Choice 2016, the personal narratives and political histories of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump from veteran filmmaker Michael Kirk and his team, and Children of Syria, Marcel Mettelsiefen’s intimate chronicle of a family fleeing war-torn Aleppo for a new life as refugees. Additionally, Saudi Arabia Uncovered, a rare glimpse inside the tightly-controlled kingdom from James Jones, was honored during the ceremony with an International Emmy for Current Affairs.
