With Americans holding $1.3 trillion in student debt, college affordability has become one of the top issues of the 2016 election. But even though many individuals feel as though they’re drowning in student loan payments, some experts argue that the idea of a “crisis” is overblown. Marketplace host Kai Ryssdal takes a 360-degree look at the student debt landscape, in the latest video in our “How the Deck is Stacked” collaboration with Marketplace and PBS NewsHour.

This video was reported by Sarah Moughty and produced by Carla Borras, Barry Clegg, Miles Alvord and Michelle Mizner.
