FRONTLINE’s October lineup spans continents, political divides and decades.

Next week, watch the gripping finale of filmmaker Ken Dornstein’s search for answers about the bombing of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie — a remarkable hour of television that sheds new and surprising light on a terror attack that has perplexed investigators for nearly 30 years.

Then, on Oct. 20, tune in as FRONTLINE and Independent Lens present Immigration Battle a revelatory, two-hour feature film from Shari Robertson and Michael Camerini that takes viewers inside the push for immigration reform in Washington.

And finally, on Oct. 27, with all eyes on Syria as Russia’s military campaign intensifies, our month of new documentaries continues with Martin Smith’s intense journey Inside Assad’s Syria.

Here’s a closer look at our October films:

October 13 | My Brother’s Bomber (Episode Three)

Over the course of two episodes that are now streaming on our site, Ken Dornstein’s journey to uncover the truth about the Lockerbie bombing has taken him to Libya, Switzerland and the sprawling Pan Am 103 crash site in Scotland itself. In the emotional and suspenseful finale of this serialized documentary, he continues that journey — identifying a new suspect, uncovering new evidence and piecing together what it all means.

October 20 | Immigration Battle

Why has it been so hard for Washington to fix our country’s broken immigration system? In Immigration Battle, FRONTLINE and INDEPENDENT LENS take viewers behind closed doors in Washington’s corridors of power to explore the political realities surrounding one of the country’s most pressing and divisive issues.

October 27 | Inside Assad’s Syria

For weeks, the world’s eyes have been fixed on the tens of thousands of refugees fleeing war-torn Syria for Europe. But what is life like for those left behind? Correspondent Martin Smith goes Inside Assad’s Syria to report from government-controlled areas as war rages, with on-the-ground reporting and firsthand accounts from Syrians caught in the crisis.
