Description
Smiley finds what looks like another murder victim. The local inspector pulls in the vagrant Mad Janie as a suspect when she is found wearing Stella Rodes necklace and coat. Stellas husband Stanley is vague on details and contradicts his own testimony. Smiley becomes convinced that a student,qTim Perkins, must have known the identity of, or had unwittingly stumbled across information that might lead directly to, the killer.
