Description
The Collards and the Vendervents are a middle-class family of toy makers who live in the respectable splendour of Albert Villa in the London suburb of Blackheath. Roger Vendervent, married to Beatrice, is having an affair with his sister-in-law Isabel. His son Paul asserts that he will indeed go to Oxford, but the family insists that he join the family firm. Roger is suddenly taken ill and Dr. Porter is unable to make a diagnosis. A suspicious death occurs at Albert Villa.
