Description
Claire Palmore is an active member of a mysterious religious cult, The World Mercy Mission, which is based in Los Angeles. Back in England, her family are finding it hard to accept she has severed all links with them and her past. Just as Claire has found salvation, her father Timothy, a Church of England vicar, has lost his faith. Drinking every day bolsters his response to the crisis. Claire's brother Stephen argues they should accept she has gone forever. Elizabeth Palmore has no justifiable reason, but she believes she can rescue Claire. In secret, she recruits an American "Exit Counsellor" called Diamond. then she withdraws the family savings and flies to L.A. to meet him. Elizabeth's determination is tested the minute she arrives. Diamond has been forced into kidnapping Claire from the cult. The three of them are soon on the run, with the State police and the FBI in hot pursuit...
