Description
On their way to bid on an old warehouse across from the Thrift, Eleanor and her father are thrust into the pandemonium of a train crash in the new underground railroad. In the darkness, Eleanor finds Peter Mills, a flashily-dressed man trapped under the debris of the disaster. Guided by her father, and in the face of Peters protests, Eleanor has to amputate his leg below the knee.
