Episodes:

Description
The story of Pip, an orphan living with his sister and her blacksmith husband, Joe. On Christmas Eve, Pip encounters an escaped convict on the marshes, for whom he steals food from home. Pip is sent to play up at Satis House, the residence of Miss Havisham, a frightening woman who seems locked in the past, wearing ancient bridal attire and never moves from the dusty upper rooms. Miss Havisham's ward, the beautiful but contemptuous Estella, makes Pip feel appallingly inferior, creating in him a desire to better himself, which means that his life will never be the same again. In spite of his bid to improve himself, the frustrated Pip appears destined to remain at the forge as Joe's apprentice. One day though, a lawyer called Jaggers informs Pip that he has "great expectations" and that he is to be released from his apprenticeship and educated in London as a gentleman. The benefactor who has made this transformation possible wishes to remain anonymous.
