Description
An adaptation of Gustave Flaubert's 19th century novel. Charles Bovary is an ineffective country physician, who marries the much-younger daughter of a patient. Emma Bovary, finding marriage to be less exciting than she was led to believe, embarks on a series of affairs. Defying the standards of convential French society leads to grave consequences for Madame Bovary.
