The Railway Children

Based On
The novel by E. Nesbit

Adapted By
Simon Nye

Number of Episodes:
1

Description
Set at the turn of the century, three Edwardian children and their mother move to a country house in Yorkshire after their father is mysteriously taken away by the police. Their mother refuses to inform the children of the exact nature of their circumstances. The country retreat, with its stone cottages and buttercup fields, becomes a nostalgic limbo--an in-between world where the children while away the hours until their father's return. Fascinated by the nearby railroad, they wave to the passengers faithfully every day, and their vigilance and courage prevent a terrible accident. Their kindness makes friends of some important travellers, one old gentleman in particular. Can he help solve the mystery of their missing father?
