Description
Temporarily ostracized from society because of her indiscreet behavior at a fancy dress ball, Lillie is restored to Berties good graces, and Edward Langtrys attempt to divorce her for adultery is finessed thatnks to Berties intervention. Lillies parents arrive in London--her father, Dean of Jersey, has been dismissed for his many illicit love affairs. Handsome young Prince Louis of Battenburg, Berties nephew, falls in love with Lillie, and she with him. Louis wants to marry Lillie, but Bertie forbids it; Lillie has a spell of faintness, and discovers shes pregnant, but Louis goes off to sea ignorant of her condition
