Description
Rick Pym is a larger-than-life confidence trickster who exerts a powerful influence over his son, Magnus. As he grows older, Magnus starts to question what lies beneath his father's charming veneer. At the age of 18, whilst he is at university, Magnus meets the two men who are going to shape the rest of his life: Jack Brotherhood who recruits the young Pym to the service of his country and Axel, who teaches him how to betray it. Pym's journey continues through Oxford University, National Service, British Intelligence and eventually to a close and deadly relationship with the Americans in Washington. When his father dies he is working at the British Embassy in Vienna. He returns to England for the funeral and disappears. After a lifetime of deception, is it too late for the perfect spy to unmask himself and discover who he really is?
