Allan Woodcourt A young surgeon who falls in love with Esther before departing England for India as a ship's doctor. Richard Harrington's previous credits include Gunpowder, Treason and Plot, the Antonia Bird-directed dramas Care and Rehab. He also guest-starred in several episodes of Spooks' third series (aka MI-5), as well as episodes of Dalziel and Pascoe and Silent Witness. Harrington had a brief stint on Coronation Street, playing Owen Williams, who unsuccessfully tried to woo Janice Battersby away from husband Les. He's also appeared in several films and stage productions, and narrated the 1998 BBC documentary Human Traffic.
