Bramwell, Series VI Dr. Eleanor Bramwell's search for love and professional fulfillment in Victorian-era London reaches a climax in the concluding five episodes. Series VI, Episode 1 January 14, 2001, 9 to 10pm Eleanor's former fiancé, Dr. Finn O'Neill, espouses a controversial smallpox treatment, which he dangerously tests on his new wife. How far will he go to get back with Eleanor? Series VI, Episode 2 January 21, 2001, 9 to 10pm Dr. Marsham battles the influence of a charismatic faith healer whose love for humanity does not extend to fallen women. Meanwhile, Marsham faces a personal crisis as he sends his daughters to live with relatives after the death of his wife. Series VI, Episode 3 January 28, 2001, 9 to 10pm Wedding preparations are under way for Eleanor's father, meaning Eleanor will now live alone, protected by a newly hired night porter. He turns out to be a violent drunk. Meanwhile, getting into the nuptial spirit, Eleanor impulsively proposes to Dr. Marsham. Series VI, Episode 4 February 4, 2001, 9 to 11pm Eleanor inspects new recruits for the just-declared Boer War. Handsome Major Quarry inspects Eleanor and convinces her that Dr. Marsham is no fit husband. But marriage is not what Quarry has in mind. Series VI, Episode 5 February 11, 2001, 9 to 11pm In the final episode of Bramwell, Eleanor learns she is pregnant by Major Quarry, and she becomes obsessed with finding a little girl she has unwittingly consigned to child prostitution after a brothel fire. Change is in the air, not just in Eleanor's personal life, but also at the Thrift, where a new manager is in charge and hostile to Eleanor's impulsive ways.
